Know Your HAIRitage Campaign: Zara’s Wash Day

Happy Black History Month! Recently, Ms. Zenda Walker published a book called Zara’s Wash Day, all about black hair and acceptance. As a young black girl, growing up, I have experienced MANY wash days and love spending that time with my mother. It’s a bonding experience, and a great opportunity for parents to teach their child something new about their heritage and history.
No matter the hair type, Brown Kids Read invites parents and children to participate in this Black History Month Initiative!
Anyone who participates will have the option to be posted on the Brown Kids Read social media pages and will also receive a FREE copy of Zara’s Wash Day.
