SSANYU LUKOMA

Ssanyu Lukoma is the 19-year-old entrepreneur, author, and founder of Brown Kids Read.

Through her work, she has distributed over 8,000 books and created The Brown Reads Bookshelf and Virtual Brown Stories Book Drives. Ssanyu is the author if four books, Suubi’s Sunny Smile, Chi-Chi’s Toothy Grin, The Power of Passion: The Brown Kids Read Story and Mom and Ssan At It Again.

Currently a student at Howard University, Ssanyu serves in several leadership roles and delivered her first TEDx Talk in May 2024. She speaks to corporations and students about entrepreneurship and DEI, aiming to inspire positive change.
