The Brown Stories Book Drives, a part of the #1000BrownStories Campaign, are organized by passionate high school and college students who are on a mission to spread the joy of reading, promote diversity, and provide students across the country with free books that feature main characters of color. Here are a few ways to help!
High-schoolers collaborate with their school to donate books to a local elementary school, collecting diverse book donations from the community. They then host a packing party and deliver the books, with some students conducting storytimes to share the joy of reading.
Sponsoring Book Copies
You can sponsor book copies for young readers by donating to Brown Kids Read! Each book copy is $5.00 and will help us distribute diverse books.

BookSmiles is a 501(c)(3) non-profit helping irrigate book deserts by spreading book wealth within the Philadelphia area. All books donated for the #1000BrownStories Campaign will be stored in the Book Smiles Warehouse! Please support Book Smiles with a financial or book donation!
